Best interests of my child/ DV

How can I really ensure that my childs best interests really are taken care of in the family court (especially young children in these important formative years)?

The feeling I get about the way family law seems to be working is that it recognises the rights of both parents, not really looking into the best interests of the child.  How do parents that can't agree on anything possibly share parental responsibility of for major decisions in the future of their child?

Also have a DV matter, but at the recent mention the magistrate took away the temporary protection order that was in place, a hearing date has been set.  He thought it might be a barrier to the non-residential parent having contact with our child (hasn't even made an attempt to see).  I feel really vulnerable now.

I am so frustrated with the legal system at the moment.  I just want to cry.  My lawyer is doing a great job, but I feel like there is more that can be done.

The template search will find all entries matching the criteria. For example, a search with a criteria of ‘Manhattan’ in the field named ‘Description’ (assuming there is one) would find any entries containing the substring ‘Manhattan’ in the ‘Description’ field.

If there are additional categories available underneath a category then there will be a clickable ‘plus’ icon shown to the left of it. Choose your selection by clicking the label (you will see it get highlighted). Hold the ctrl key to expand all child categories also.
