NSW Government has lost the plot! Fathers no longer on birth certs.

A CONTROVERSIAL new bill that will remove the word "father" from birth certificates to recognise lesbian couples who have children through IVF will be put before NSW Parliament. Fifty laws across NSW covering the Local Government Act, Industrial Relations Act and the constitution will be amended to include new parental presumption protection for female same-sex couples. Lesbian parents will see expressions such as "birth mother", replace "mother" and "both parents" to replace "the father and the mother" on birth certificates. The bill equates the position of a lesbian partner of a woman who has a child after becoming pregnant by a fertilisation procedure, other than sexual intercourse, with the position of a married woman's husband. Lesbian parents will see expressions such as "birth mother", replace "mother" and "both parents" to replace "the father and the mother" on birth certificates.

Father's battle for 50-50 custody long and expensive

Michael B is one of a small number of Australian fathers who has a 50-50 shared parenting arrangement with his six-year-old son after divorce. He believes that were it not for the Howard government's shared parenting laws, which require the Family Court to presume that a child's best interests are served by having a "meaningful" relationship with both parents after separation, he would not have been given any responsibility for his son, let alone equal time.

NSW Government caught lying to shore up women DV figures

The NSW Government has confirmed making substantial errors in its current Discussion paper on NSW Domestic and Family Violence Strategy. In errata published on the Office for Women's Policy web page, the
Government admits errors that clearly over-inflate the female victimisation rate from partner assault by at least 65 per cent while downplaying the prevalence of violence against men by their former partners. Blatant lies such as 63 per cent of child killers are fathers (actually, less than a quarter are fathers, and over half are mothers) were caught out by Greg Andresen, spokesman for Men's Health Australia (MHA).

NSW Government says children don't need a father

The NSW Minister for Community Services, the Hon Linda Burney MP, has asked the NSW Parliaments Standing Committee on Law and Justice to conduct an inquiry into whether NSW adoption laws should be amended to allow same sex couples to adopt. It is now becoming clear there is a view amongst some elitist politicians that fathers are not required within the family construct. While NSW is the worst performing economy the Government focuses on further eroding family values.

Divorced from wealth

Another sign of the well-organised attack on the meagre family law and child support reforms, of recent years, by the divorce industry. This is a story of many separated women, their choices, their consequence (life outcomes)and their desire to be supported by governments (aka taxpayers) because of those choices. Who would ever have dreamt that fathers who look after their children over 25% (2 of 7) of nights would ever deserve 24% of the resources to do it? Why is it that, despite all evidence showing that men and women can equally care for children, women are still awarded sole custody in almost all cases?

Dads get the worst gifts

IT may come as little surprise to many dads that Father's Day ranks last when it comes to spending on gifts.

Father's Day trails way behind spending on a partner's birthday, for which 70 per cent of respondents said they spent the most amount of money on presents, the Visa Prepaid survey found.…

Fathers fight back

It was once widely assumed that children were better off with their mothers, especially after divorce. In part, that was because mothers did most of the child-rearing. They got pregnant, gave birth and did most of the heavy lifting - nappy changes, toilet-training and school pick-ups - as the children got older. The role played by fathers, for many years, was assumed to be mainly financial: he was the breadwinner and often the person who provided the discipline.
