Celebrate Grandparents Day Sunday 30 October 2011
Grandparents have always played a valuable role in our society by offering care, love and guidance to their children and grandchildren.
On Sunday 30 October 2011, the NSW Government will officially recognise this contribution with the inaugural Grandparents Day. This is our way of celebrating the important role grandparents play in our community.
Across the State, there are going to be a number of events including a Grandparents Day out at Taronga Zoo full of fun activities, as well as community events conducted by local councils and Clubs NSW.
A range of resources including certificates, greeting cards and e-cards, as well as artwork for posters, are available on the Ageing, Disability and Home Care website.
Grandparents are the unsung heroes in our community, so it is fitting they are recognised with a day in their honour.
However you choose to spend the day, we hope it is a special one for you and your family.
Grandparents Day will be held annually on the last Sunday in October.
If youd like to attend a community event, please contact your local council or club to see what activities are on offer.
