A woman was jailed for more than 10 years for allowing her emaciated and dehydrated seven-week-old baby to starve to death. It was also revealed that 35-year-old mother of seven Vikki Marie Johnston nearly let another of her children suffer a similar fate four years ago. In the South Australian Supreme Court, Justice Robyn Layton said baby Kalib Johnston was emaciated with wrinkled skin and wasted muscles when he died in the back of his mother's car in June last year. The family had been on their way from Melbourne to Alice Springs at the time.
