Non lawyer review hearings

I realise this has to do with matters that are drug and alcohol related. But what prevents us from initiating a pilot program, in the Family Court/Federal Circuit Court, similar in nature?

In some respects the UK is behind in progression e.g. they were recently having an argument about "no fault" divorce. However, in may ways, they are far more progressive than Australia. You decide!

If, in Australia, the Judiciary (and legal fraternity?) is objectionable towards suggestions of a less complicated Tribunal, then perhaps they could at least be more open to other alternatives.  Non-lawyer review hearings, where this is practicable, and not just drug and alcohol related, being one of them?
