how long after someone relocates does the other parent need to apply for them to return to the area. a week, month, year etc?
The earlier an approach is made to the courts the better.
A week would be great, a month plausable, but 1 year to my mind would be to long and difficult to reverse.
Basically the courts look at the reasons for the move, if the children have settled from the move, any violent histories, and previous arrangements. The longer the move, the more settled of the children, the harder to reverse.
so for example if the OP decided after 6 months to a year that they would use the excuse 'i didnt know i could have had them brought back' could they still attempt to make an order? even if the relocating parent and children were set up and settled.

sorry for the questions, im trying to help a friend get some info.
