How can I add posts to a topic when there is no Add Reply or Quick Reply button?

Add Topic
Hi

I wanted to know if I can only reply when there are new replies to my posts?

I would like to add some information in a post but cannot see where to do this unless it is done under "Add Topic" which to me means it wouldn't appear under my current topic? Would someone be kind enough to tell me how to add posts in my topic?

Also, I added a long post this morning and it is nowhere to be found. I typed it all out and there is no "post" so I chose "preview"… Is that correct? Could it be that it was deleted by moderators and if so why?

Thankyou.

AH

As an anti-spam measure consecutive postings are disabled for most. However, for a while after making a post you can edit a post.

You could edit the original post, if within the permissible time-frame or you could request that a moderator to, make a post to enable you to post (which could subsequently be deleted), to edit the post or to add a post on your behalf (this has the disadvantage that it would not be a post from yourself).

Preview has to be followed by clicking on New Post, which appears after Previewing, for the post to be added. It is suggested that, especially for longer posts, that you use something like MS Word which can save the data/post and that you always check that your post has in fact been added. If it hasn't then there is a good chance that you can use the back button to recall the page.
Thankyou for letting me know.

I think that I may have accidentally not chosen New Post after Preview, so all that typing….. Lost!

Adding a little to MikeT

On a NEW Topic or POST you select preview to P R E V I E W the post. That is you see what it looks like BEFORE you post it. That is the whole idea of the preview design button. MANY forums do not let you P R E V I E W the post first and it just gets posted. So we give you a preview button. WHEN you are happy with it you ADD the post to the site forum.

When you subsequently edit one of your own posts then you do not get an ADD button as you have a P R E V I E W button and and E D I T button which does the same as ADD. WE have thought about changing the edit button but it is for editing posts not new. Sorry to hear you lost your post. One thing to be aware of is that on ANY web browser if you type a big post regardless of this site or any other you cannot rely on the web browser to keep your text. If you loose internet connectivity the browser will auto refresh and you will loose your text. I have also accidentally hit the back button and only to loose text when going forward. I absolutely agree with you it is frustrating as its happened a few times to me and as Mike T so wisely eludes a lengthy post is best done off site. I hope you can find the time to repost here.
