Search Engines and what you say on a forum

Legal Issues

I noticed that it is mentioned on this site that search engines look at the forums, I typed my name into google and up came a couple of my posts, I noticed that some posts mention the actions of their ex partners.

Now if your user name got back to the other person involved in a case could your comments be used against you in legal procedings? i know you have stated that the private forums are blocked from searches and i can see the reasons why, I'm just curious about the open forums

If you don't talk about it, how can anyone help you move forward!

legals

Yes - your posts can be used in legal proceedings and I know for a fact that a recent case involved web postings.

Monti - who thinks all FMs and Judges are great, especially when I am in front of you!

My ex, used to frequently look at my postings on another forum, if you know about that it can sometimes be a useful way of communicating some issues. :) or should that be  :ninja:

There are multiple warnings on this site about identifying yourself and your ex partner and yet people still do it - at their peril!

In a recent case a 'Notice to Admit Facts' concerned postings on a web site (not this one)

All the public forums are 'fair game' for search engines. The private (not visible special members areas) cannot be scanned

Do not say anything on a public forum, that you would not say loudly in a shopping centre or town square on a soapbox. (even though soapbox-ing is not encouraged on the forum, lol)

Internet postings are also permissable as "business records" under the evidence act.
