False Information in Affidavit

What is the significance of false information in an affidavit

In my current case,

I have a situation where my X stated something in her affidavit that I have documentary evidence that proves it to be false.

She was attempting to embellish the signifiance of an event in order to paint me in a bad light.

Is there much to be gained from pursuing this ?   ….

Do the courts care much about it,  am I likely to do more damage to myself by trying to empasise this mistruth and appear to be point scoring ?

It would really depend on how much damage, if any, the false statement in the affidavit is going to cause you. I normally challenge every 'misinterpretation' in the affidavit with a 'correct' version and provide the evidence. One of the reasons for this is that the credibility of the author is at stake. If you can dent  the credibility of the other side, you have gained an advantage in the court room.

please note: it is important you tell the truth about your actions, no matter how bad you think they are. Credibility is very important, especially when it involves a he said/she said argument.
