EX dodging calls from CSA!!

Add Topic
Ok can someone tell me how to go about getting a welfare check on my daughter living in Queensland?? When the mother left her in the care of the grandmother to move permanently back to NZ they moved from the last known address we had!!

Also, she is claiming child support but living in NZ!! How do we prove to CSA she no longer lives in Australia with my daughter?? So annoyed as to how CSA can keep ringing and sending me letters wanting child support but trying to get the ex to prove shes left Australia!! Is now permantly living in NZ all she has do to is dodge their calls and just ignore them all together and keep collecting child support for our child she left in the care of someone else!!!

Why is it then CSA will not stop the payments for her mucking them around but are quick to take what I have to pay???
You could contact the QLD police or QLD Child Safety Services and tell them you are concerned about your daughters welfare as her mother has up and left the country. You can request they check up on her to make sure she is being adequately cared for. You will probably need an address, unless the police can use their powers to locate the grandmother.

Do you want access to your daughter? if so I don't see why you cannot apply to the court for that to happen, as the mother has left her then maybe you would be exempt from mediation and could immediately apply for orders . As the biological father your daughter has a right to have a relationship with you.

Can't give advice on CSA, guessing you will need something on paper. The police or welfare should do up a report if they look into her welfare.
Do you have orders regarding residency? If so you could lodge a contravention and seek to change the orders so you are the primary carer. That would give you the authority to seek a recovery order which the police would have to follow up. If not, you'd have grounds to seek orders giving you primary care as circumstances have changed.

I'm sure some of the SRL people could help you with this one.

Come on Craigo you should know better, that terminology dissapeared in 2006

Yeah, mea culpa. Strange how the new terms are synonymous with the old ones though…

Somehow I'm reminded of my old man's admonission about not calling a spade a bloody shovel.

He was probably trying to teach you that a spade ISN'T a shovel - in the same way that concrete isn't cement…

Perhaps my old man should have just hardened up…

How about an admonition? to use the spell checker provided!

Now a 'one liner'. Craigo have the courtesy to read what I write (First site forum and pinned posts) and perhaps count to one hundred before you make another post.

Fair enough, but sometimes a bit of humour goes a long way.
If C$A can't redo the care percentages perhaps you should try the process with Family Assistance as they are more friendly and their decision will be binding with C$A. There is then a possibility that the grandmother will apply for child support and family assistance however perhaps you should be looking to get some care time. Also the mother can only receive family assistance for 12 weeks if she has left the country so a call to centrelink/Family assistance might be in order to let them know about this.
ok will try Family Assistance thanks. The grandmother could apply for child support but would have to take a case against her daughter aswell as me. I know she wouldn't do that, as to why her daughter is still claiming child support from me. Yes she has left the country and has no intention of moving back to Australia.

Obviously 'people' does not include yourself otherwise you would have read the Senior Moderators comments about one line posts. Craigo seems to have gone quiet, his pork for breakfast humour has worn very thin.

conan try to lighten up a little bit and not take life so serious. Craigo comes out with some very informative posts a majority of the time. I often read but not post on subjects on here but when i find some humour thrown in i find the shiny side of what might have been a stale thread for me, in other words ive had a read and not got much out of it but ive had a laugh so now i have.

Craigo can't see the point of posting when he knows the posts will be deleted. Apparently there are rules against pointing out that some people have an inflated sense of their own adequacy.

And at the risk of sounding like your ex, I'll just point out that your last two posts and each of the contributions from Sisyphus were "one-liners"…

Apparently the rules are flexible enough to allow selective enforcement.

I am not surprised your posts were deleted, I read them in my email, you don't know when to keep quiet.

The above illustrates that you have not read the 'one liner' post because on 28th February 2008

One liner posts or 'chat board' responses are generally not considered acceptable. In general posts 'should be of interest to a majority of readers' (Site Policy)

This topic was first addressed on 9th February and it appears that a small number of posters are more intent on reading what they write rather than what a moderator writes.

As a guide only:

1.   If a post is general chat
2.   If a post makes no sense in isolation (example, when read as an email notification)
3.   Could be better answered by an inline whisper
4.   Contains less than 20-25 words (unless succinct and adds to the topic)
5.   A poster appears to be creating a large number of very short posts to drive up their FLWG posting points

The post is very likely to be deleted

Temporary Exceptions
General Chat Posts in the Venting Area (Hyde Park Corner) providing 2 to 5 above are considered.

Other Exceptions
Some workers are providing 10 - 30 per hours per week of their time helping with site developments which means they have less posting time.

So Craigo the last line obviously applies to the Senior Moderator, even blind Freddy could understand that and it also applies to me for some of the work I do.

"and it appears that a small number of posters are more intent on reading what they write rather than what a moderator writes"

Will await your meaningless and supercilious reply.

None of that has anything to do with the subject of my post, nor does it excuse the double-standard being applied. I recognise the work being done by genuinely qualified people and I applaud itand defer to it in many of my posts, however that doesn't mean I believe that heavy-handed and uneven enforcement of arbitrary "rules" is justified.

The main reason that many people seek out this site is because they have experienced just such arbitrariness and self-justifications from those in charge of the system. The last thing they need is self-importance: they've had their fill.

Bottom line is that humour is a social lubricant and can be of great benefit to those who have the weight of the world on their shoulders. If you genuinely want to help people, perhaps you should just get on with it, instead of seeking approval? Speaking entirely for myself, I don't have much time for self-promoters and spruikers.
