Effect of back payment of child support debt on family payment ?

Add Topic

Child Support and the reduction of Family Payment. I worked and paid child support which reduced his debt. I'm now not working and had twins with my new partner. My ex has been ordered to pay the remainder amount. This will drop my family payment to nil

My ex didn't pay child support for over 10 years and now has an accrued debt.

Why should the family payment drop to nil because of a debt that was owed over 10 years?

And is their a law to stop this, as I was entitled to a certain amount of maintenance per year?
Cindy - I am a bit confused by your email. Who was due to pay child support to whom? It is very difficult to answer your question with out more details. How much is the debt?

I am reading it that Cindy helped her then partner pay CS to his former partner (female number 1).

After he became an ex, he still had an outstanding CS debt to female number 1. This means that Cindy is struggling because it has reduced her payments from her then partner (maintenance, CS - family payment is what is making it unclear).

Cindy now has twins from her new relation ship and is feeling the pinch financially by the sounds because she is not working. I do not believe she has children to her ex.

Cindy, you need to be very specific in your outline of the situation - there are a lot of players.
