SUBPOENAED FILES

Please help

My X lawyers have SUBPOENAED my Dr to have a copy of my file.

This is my private information and I really don't like them nosing around in my Dr files.

Can this be done?

What can I do?

i think you might find that your dr is exempt from giving out that info.
The judge allowed a subpoena to be issued to a former doctor of mine and the doctor released the medical file to the Family court. The judge allowed full copying of the file to be done. They were then used in court as evidence and this had nothing to do with any children.

I added the bolding.  That's terrible!

Here in WA, all my dr and counselor records were subpoenaed by my ex.  I didn't want copies made because there's info about my kids and stuff that might hurt my chances to rebuild my life if it got out in public.  At the hearing I gave those reasons and requested no copies be permitted.  The magistrate said that was normal practice, for medical records to be for inspection only with no copying, and agreed with my request.

However, she did warn me that I should still attend the next subpoena hearing just in case.

There are provisions to object to subpoenas.
