Proof of Care

Is there anything we can do if 15yo is no longer attending school and lives over 95% of the time with the boyfriend.  Mother gets C$A for 100% care but has no control and CSA do not want to know.  If we can't do anything through C$A will Centerlink do anything.  Mother manipulated child to get 100% care but only did this to get the cash cow rolling in and does not take any responsibility to provide actual care.  Maybe if some funds get cut she might actually start to provide proper care.
Can you get anything from the school showing the child is not there?

Under the earning or learning laws, schools are meant to notify centrelink if any child under 17 leaves with out getting an exemption on the grounds they have 25 hours a week work or are enrolled in another form of study/apprenticeship ect.

When my son was 15 he stopped going to school due to difficulties because he is Autistic. I know the school was notifying centerlink of him not being there(they told me). CL could have stopped my FTB payment but due to his disability CL granted him a disability pension.
Have CSA actually made a decision regarding the care arrangements? If CSA has made a decision to reject your care claim already, the Centrelink/FAO won't be able to change the care for the same period as CSA have made the determination. However, you do have objection rights and you can object to CSA's decision at either CSA or FAO. I would recommend objecting at FAO as they do not have the 28 day time period for objections, so you don't have any of the out of time garbage.

Is your daughter's boyfriend still living at home? Maybe his parent's would be willing to provide some evidence?
Yes FAO are much more reasonable to work with than C$A in reassessing care percentages. No need to talk to C$A at all with this matter.

Could also be cause for a terminating event as she is now a member of a couple.
Ask C$A what proof they would need to support your claim.
There has a been a big rise in the use of Private Investigators by parents to provide the necessary proof to CSA lately.

You sound like you are in the Know. I cannot say that I have come across this in great numbers.

Hey Monti - yep, had some discussions recently, people were becoming reluctant about the csa desk top investigations and there had been a significant increase in people using PI's to gather the facts before presenting it to CSA. Apparently there had been a bit of confusion in CSA as to hoe to deal with it.

I'll be down your way after easter, we'll have to catch up.
