Education -vs- 50/50 custody

I have taken my son to be tested as his education is limited, I have had orders for 50/50 since 2006, I have had interviews with the school but to no avail, so in the end (without wanting to over test him) I have had his eye's, speech/language, dental, and gp, I am about to take him for Dyslexia therapy as his speech/language suggested this, When is 50/50 more important to the courts then his emotional well being, his father will not let him change schools, and does not admit to there being a problem, my son is staying with me at present and I am trying to help him in respect to his relationship with his father but he won't go back, his dad asked him to choose where he is to stay fulltime, but I believe this is only a short lived change as his father would not do this long term, he is in termoil, he is adament that he will not return to his fathers house, (but I have a court orders), my son is 13

What sort of post is this? a statement of perceived facts or indirect questions? Eyes and Dental are not emotional problems and who recommended the other therapy?
Time for a visit to an FRC?
Believe it or not Conan most of the things tested if not fully functional can produce lowered learning in a child. A child who struggles accidemically also quite often struggles emotionally, so they do go together in the welfare of a child. Sometimes being seen as slow by your peers can make life unbearable. Not wanting to see a problem does not make it better and at a high school level with peers so important a child needs to feel secure.
As a parent of a special needs child, i'd like to point out to you conan that optical and dental problems can be an emotional issue if it is causing the problems with the child's speech, learning or delays.
Optical I feel it is obvious how this can cause problems if the eyesight is poor, dental can be the teeth are not in the average pattern which can create a lisp and such as well as it is a dentist you would see rather than a gp in regards to issues where the gum or more so the softer bottom of the mouth (under the tongue) has a larger or smaller than average follow (can't think of technical name) to the tongue -my child has this issue and can not pronounce many words properly due to this.
Many of the tests that 50/50 has mention are standard for a doctor to refer you too if your child is having educational difficulties - more so it is normally through a pediatrician or after a thought process evaluation to find where the issue lies.

To 50/50
did any school - more so when in primary school recommend a thought process analysis or undertake one, this is normally the easiest way for a firm diagnosis…..
who said it was dyslexia and who refereed the therapies? if it is a medical practitioner you and your ex have agreed to use then I have found this has more weight. and the father will be required to take this more seriously than just someone one parent may have picked at random out of a phone book.
Mediation is the best go in these circumstances i would pressume, just make sure you have full records on paper.
Why the change of school? I've seen it go very bad before when a parent changes the school without the other's permission and you would need solid reasons why to change. If it is just bulling then look at it instead of being that you are seperated from the father would you still  take this action if you were still together? As a step parent to two grown up  children - I find changing schools just teaches them they can run away from their problems and not learn tips who to manage it.

50/50 please contact me directly if you wish, I work for a company that does Educational software solutions and we do have a product that focuses on Maths and English that can help your child. I don't want to seem like I am plugging my job here, however if your interested from an educational perspective I would be happy to chat with you further about a program that can help.
